Young fan throws bat, breaks down after failing to get Virat Kohli’s autograph amid IPL 2026 [Watch]


A kid recently approached Virat Kohli for an autograph at Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) team hotel amid the ongoing IPL 2026. He ran excitedly towards the star cricketer after the Bengaluru-based side arrived at the hotel.

However, he was stopped by security in the lobby before he could reach the former RCB skipper. The young fan was visibly heartbroken at missing the chance to interact with Kohli. He threw the bat he held for the autograph on the floor and broke down in tears while walking away. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli has shown wonderful form this season. He is currently the fourth-highest run-scorer of IPL 2026, amassing 351 runs from eight innings at a strike rate of 162.50. The veteran cricketer has hit three half-centuries so far.

Virat Kohli becomes the first batter to score 9000 runs in IPL history

Virat Kohli was last seen in action during RCB’s dominant nine-wicket win over Delhi Capitals (DC) at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Monday, April 27. DC were bundled out for a paltry score of 75 after being put to bat first.

Pacers Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismantled DC’s batting line-up, picking up four and three wickets, respectively. RCB completed the second-fastest chase in IPL by winning in just 6.3 overs.

Kohli remained unbeaten on 23 off 15. During the knock, he became the first-ever batter to cross the 9000-run landmark in IPL. He reached the milestone with a single off Axar Patel’s bowling on the final ball of the sixth over. The 37-year-old is the leading run-scorer in the league, with 9012 runs across 267 innings.

Defending champions RCB clinched their sixth win of IPL 2026. They have 12 points and a net run rate of 1.919 after eight fixtures and are placed second in the table.
