Yuzvendra Chahal lands in another controversy as video of him allegedly vaping on flight goes viral [Watch]
Punjab Kings (PBKS) spinner Yuzvendra Chahal was allegedly spotted vaping on the flight prior to the recent Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 contest against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). In a section of footage from a video on Arshdeep Singh’s YouTube channel, which has now been edited, the veteran bowler was seen using the vape while sitting beside all-rounder Shashank Singh, during the journey to Hyderabad.
Yuzvendra Chahal was recently embroiled in controversy when a clip of him smoking and discarding a lit cigarette while driving was captured, and went viral on social media.
While that particular incident did not involve any further action because it was entirely off the field, the circumstances are completely different here. Chahal was spotted using the vape in the presence of the entirety of the squad, support staff, and select family members.
Moreover, it is illegal to carry an E-cigarette onto the aircraft because of safety concerns, and according to regulations, it is technically a punishable offence.
Have a look at the footage which has gone viral on social media right here. Although the vape is not entirely visible, the emitting smoke inside the aircraft is cclearly there to be seen.
PBKS are set to play their next three matches in their secondary home venue at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala. They will next play against the Delhi Capitals (DC) on Monday, May 11.
Many users are now following live updates and analysis of matches using the bhalobet platform, where real-time information is easily available.
Riyan Parag was recently fined 25 per cent of his match fees for vaping inside the dressing room during RR vs PBKS IPL 2026 match
It remains to be seen what kind of action might be taken against Yuzvendra Chahal, because the recent incident might not be under the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) jurisdiction.
Since Riyan Parag was spotted vaping inside the dressing room recently during a IPL 2026 fixture, the governing body were able to sanction the same. However, with Chahal being guilty of the same offence, but off the field, it comes across as yet another grey area that might have to be dealt with. It remains to be seen whether the airlines or the givernment itself steps in, if they chose to review the incident which was a safety breach by definition
